SPLICING
All splicing is carried out by Fenner's own splicing crews. The belting is hot vulcanised by means of the finger splice method. Additionally hot splicing can increase joint strengths to beyond 90% of belt strength. Conventional rectangular and bias vulcanising presses are used and a variety of polymeric jointing materials have been developed in-house for satisfactory operation. This edge-to edge splice enables good quality joints to be made with strengths approaching that of the belt itself.
Fenner offers a two-year warranty on Nitrile cover (FRSR & SWR) splices.
